Camp Blood Commentary
This is the commentary for the second to the last chapter of Long Night at Camp Blood. Let's just jump right into this commentary.
Chapter 4: Still of the Night
There are less than three hours left on Friday the 13th. The killer has eliminated all but three people still on the campgrounds. The killer has managed to keep their presence a secret up until this point while leaving only a few clues but only to the readers and the dead.
The story starts with the trio continuing to play games (Uno). The killer arranged for the powerlines to come down by cutting into one of the power poles but not all the way through. Doing this allowed for the storm to do the work for the killer when the storm picked up.
Mike and Jackson decide to go together to start the generator so that the power is down only a short amount of time. Sienna is left with Jackson's fully charged cellphone to use as a flashlight.
Obviously taking out the power was the killer's tactic to further separate the party. There was the chance that all three would go start the generator but with the element of surprise on their side, the killer would have gotten two at the very least and then chased down the third. Only having to deal with two made the attack much simpler.
Of course, during their goodbyes, I have Jackson break one of the cardinal rules of a horror movie/story (If you seen the movie Scream you know what it is) he says "I'll Be Right Back"
Sienna is watching the pair make their way to the generator shed from the main hall when a lightning flash gives away the killer's position. Of course at this time Sienna believes that the person following the two counselors is John Cramer.
John has been missing since lunch and they think he is plotting some grand surprise or scare tactic. This is the only reason Sienna does not open the window and scream to the guys that they are being followed.
The guys realize that someone is following them and they too believe that it is John. They split up with Miking moving quicker and Jackson slowing down. Sienna sees the dark figure with a weapon and is unable to act before the killer slashes Jackson's back. Mike had turned and saw the attack coming and tried to warn Jackson of the attack.
One of the things I didn't put into the story was the various training sessions that Mike and Jackson did. I envision the trainning sessions similar to this scene (minus the part where he's trying to shoot his mentor). Include rolling shots.
Jackson is taken out and his body ends up floating in the lake. Satisfied with the kill the attacker moves to Mike before he can get to cover. Mike tries to run, hoping that he can move faster than his would-be killer. Unfortunately the killer launces the weapon which flies faster than Mike can run and the axe ends up in his back.
Now, the next part is very traditional in the aspect that Sienna is flight mode, not fight mode. This is because she has no weapons. While there are knives in the kitchen she knows the killer has access to an ax, which would trump anthing in the kitchen she could find. She knows the killer was aware of her last known position.
She leaves her bright rain poncho and opts for garbage bags. The back door was locked (and the killer checked prior to attacking Jackson and Mike). So after Mike is dealt with the killer goes to the front door (which is closer than the back from their position) and knowing the door will be locked hacks away at the door. As the main door is solid wood it takes several stron strikes to cut the lock out.
Sienna smartly uses this time to sneak out the backdoor and hides in the woods. Now I realize I used this same ploy in my last story but it is a smart plan. Why try and run when you can plant yourself in the dark woods and wait out the clock. Sienna knows she just has to make it till the next morning some time. She can hide in the darkness until just before dawn.
Sienna falls asleep for a short time and when she wakes up the killer has activated the generator to get the lights on to limit Sienna's hiding spots. True her current position is safe but if she wants to move it would be best to do so in the dark.
So Sienna plans to disable the generator and make a dash for the wooded area near the main road. A good plan but when she sneaks into the generator shed she is greated by the killer who has been waiting for her to do just that.
AN: So by now anyone reading the commentary knows who the killer is (in theory). I will go into the whys and hows of the end next weeks. I will also do commentary on Senior Prom as it is a one shot that very vew people have read on AOOO & Wattpad (does better on FF.net).
