Burned Commentary: Reunion , Original Operation: Afterburn, Operation Afterburn Ch 1-3

 Ok, so we will be covering the long process that led to Operation Afterburn.  The story was plotted almost immediately after I finished writing the first story.  I had my ending planned but everything that came between was the longest road.  As I previously stated the story for Reunion was written after Chapter 10 was completed.  Rocki and Chloe were reunited and Rocki had dozens of questions for her old friend.  Likewise, Chloe was now safe but she had just lost her husband and was rescued by two people that she had not expected to ever see again.  This story also reintroduced readers to Charlie Donovan who would play a large part in my ending.

Here is my original outline (mines 3 entires) for Operation Afterburn

Original Idea

Ch 1: Race You – Done

Ch 2: Family Matters - Done

Ch 3: TBD

Ch 4: The Setup – The group prepares for their payday

• Ramona and Charlie become romantically close

• Chloe is on overwatch duty

• Charlie and Rocki are in charge of prepping the container for extraction.

• Jackson is the point man and the extraction but the team does not know-how.

Ch 5: Game On – The Mission is a go

• Jackson's demo work stuns his former colleagues.

• His team are distracted by external security while Charlie & Rocki rig the container.

• Chloe remotely detonates the pier with the container floating away.

Ch 6: Double Cross – Jackson held up his end of the deal. Of course, the government decides to change the terms.

• Jackson flies the container to the rendezvous point.

• The CIA tries to screw Jackson over but they are double-crossed themselves

• Jackson gives them 150 million

• Jackson's Family returns home.

Chapter 7: Full Circle - Jackson & Rocki Fuller return to Cancun on the anniversary of their original trip.

• Jackson and Rocki return to Cancun Mexico.

• Chloe has bought the resort hotel with her share of the score.

• Charlie and Ramona Donovan join the newlyweds. They have eloped but want to spend the time with their family.

• Chloe's daughter spends time with the adults before she flies out to be with the Fuller's.

Epilogue – It's Corrine 16^th birthday. They learn the secret of her parentage.

• Corrine is the biological daughter of Jackson Fuller and Chloe Donovan.

• Jackson, Rocki, Chloe, Ramona & Charlie tell their family the story of their lives.

The Original Chapter 1 which is only available here started with bringing Ramona into the fold.   Jackson has his plan but knows he needs more people to pull it off.  Ramona is reunited with Charlie who (in this story) seems to be a natural racer.  This idea was implanted because my original idea was to have Charlie and Ramona in armored cars to extract the container (as a part of the plan before Jackson's true plan is revealed).

The original Chapter 2 (also only available here) starts with the conversation between Jackson and Ramona.  Part of this found its way into the main story as it was a great bonding moment between the two.

I never plotted out the third chapter and I never really had an idea how to get from 2 to 4 which was a large part of the delay between stories 1 and 2.

I did have an idea for a scene similar to the club scene in the actual story.  Jackson and the girls would try and approach the group which would leave to a stand-off.  Jackson would shoot one of his teammates saying something that would remind the operatives of a prior mission and force a meeting between Jackson and Stevens to work out the double cross.

The original epilogue was similar to what I wrote except it was more focused on Cora being revealed as Jackson's daughter on her 16th birthday.  The kids would receive their 16th birthday gifts (cars bought by Jackson from the year of their birth).

Operation: Afterburn

Chapter 1:  When I finally decided on the direction of my story I decided to pick up right after Reunion.  I wanted to show off more of Jackson's skills and needed a target.  I created Trevor Brennan, Chloe's brother-in-law, who was never a fan of Chloe's (for no reason).  When I was plotting this story I originally envisioned Jackson knocking out police that recognized Chloe in the airport but decided on the fight scene in Chloe's home instead.

Also, after creating Jasmine in the Burned Remastered story I needed to have Jackson explain his actions to Chloe.  Chloe understands Jackson's reasoning but it is just one more thing that has been thrown at her in a short amount of time.

After rescuing Chloe from Trevor Jackson decidest to take Chloe with him to Florida.

Chapter 2:  This was primarily a setup chapter.  Jackson is working on his operation for Athena but discovers his old teammates are in charge of security.  This prompts him to bring in Rocki, Charlie, and (secretly until Ch 3) Ramona.

Meanwhile, Chloe is staying with Sienna (Savannah) in Florida as no one in the government knows of her connection to Jackson.

Chapter 3: This chapter puts all of Jackson's team together and they finally learn what his job is, why he is doing it and what they will get for helping him.

Jackson is keeping Sienna's involvement in his past from the core group with the exception of Chloe who is living with her.  Chloe learns about Jackson's past with Sienna but keeps this to herself.
